Lively, Engaging and Informative

12 Jul

This video on the new Missal is from “Life Teen.” Father is speaking to youth ministers. I am not a youth minister. Certainly I am no youth. But I find the video lively, engaging and informative. (It loads very slowly. Hit the play button, then the pause button. Pray a couple Our Fathers and a couple Hail Marys. Then hit play. It is worth the wait. The praying won’t hurt either.)

Thanks for your welcome of this immigrant to the digital continent, native son!

Youth minister you were and a great one at that during your years at McAuley HS. Your repoire with those of us young women was one of excitement in your work, a smile that could make bad/trying days better, a kinship with adolescents and a genuine desire to foster self esteem. For that and so much more ~ your attendance at dances, athletic events and the such let us know that you cared beyond the 8-4 school day. You impacted my life in so many ways and I hope that I was as successful as you in helping teens to feel comfortable in their own skin as they developed their ever changing pedagogy on life during the time I was a licensed social worker with teen 12-17 and the years I spent as a middle school teacher. Thank you for what reassurances you gave me and I use the same one today when I see one of “my kids” struggling. Thank you for Phil 4: 4-6

My three years at McAuley (with my studnets) are among my most treasured memories.
